These Acceptable Use Guidelines were developed
to educate customers on the acceptable use of the Rogers Cable network (the
"Network") and the Zone dial-up Internet access service (the "Service").
By purchasing and using the Service, the customer agrees to be bound by
these Acceptable Use Guidelines.
1. The customer agrees to utilize the Network for lawful purposes
only and that repeated, unsolicited and unwanted communication of an intrusive
nature is not acceptable. As well, the customer agrees not to misrepresent
his/her e-mail address in any on-line communication.
2. The customer agrees to respect the privacy of other individuals on
the Network at all times and to not use the Service to achieve unauthorized
access to any computer systems, software, data, or other copyright or patent-protected
material.
3. The customer agrees that he/she will not intentionally develop
or use programs that compromise the integrity of other computing and network
systems.
4. The customer agrees to use only the IP number, DNS configuration,
bindings and gateways that were assigned to the customer by Rogers Cable
at the time of installation.
5. The customer agrees that he/she will not provide direct, permanent
network attachments to third parties and that he/she is not permitted to
"resell" access to the Network in any form or fashion including,
but not limited to, storage and distribution of commercial web pages and/or
the provision of Internet access through a modem pool.
6. The customer agrees to respect and abide by the legal protection
provided by copyright and license to programs and data as well as trademarks
and service marks.
7. The customer agrees that unsolicited advertising to other Network
users is not acceptable.
8. Rogers Cable has no obligation to monitor content or the customer's
use of the Network. However, the customer agrees that Rogers Cable has the
right to monitor content and the customer's use of the Network from time
to time and to disclose any information as necessary to (i) satisfy any
law, regulation or other governmental request or to assist in the pursuit
of any legal action against the customer; (ii) operate the Service properly;
(iii) ensure or enforce compliance with the Zone Dial-Up Internet Terms
and Conditions and/or these Acceptable Use Guidelines; or (iii) protect
Rogers Cable or its subscribers. Rogers Cable may refuse to post or may
remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, that it decides
are unacceptable, undesirable, or in violation of these Acceptable Use Guidelines.
9. Rogers Cable reserves the right to investigate complaints of inappropriate
or illegal use of the Service and/or the Network and to take the necessary
corrective action to resolve the situation. Such action may include contacting
the customer, suspending or disconnecting the Service or notifying appropriate
legal authorities.
These Acceptable Use Guidelines are subject to change at any time. |
