1. What are the Zone email servers?
POP Server - pop.thezone.net
SMTP Server - mail.thezone.net
2. What is the Zone news server?
3. What do I do if I'm not prompted to enter my account
information and passwords after installing the Zone CD?
- Click on your Start button.
- Highlight Programs, then Netscape Communicator.
- Follow the link to Utilities and then to Profile Manager.
- Click on Profile Manager and then choose New profile.
- Fill in the fields as requested with the information
provided from your Zone agent.
- Shut down your Netscape when finished and log in again.
The software will prompt you to choose the profile you wish to use.
Highlight it and click Start Communicator.
4. Why is my password not accepted?
- Check to make sure that you have typed it in correctly
as provided by your Zone agent.
- The password provided by your Zone agent is all in
lower case. You must enter it that way.
- If you have entered your password incorrectly too
many times, then your account has been locked. You can contact our technical
support at 1-888-742-4397 to have this changed.
- If you have changed your password on our secure site
(https://utils.thezone.net/utils),
then you must enter your new password in your email or login in settings
if you have your old password automatically saved.
- If you have changed your password, then make sure
that you have entered it with capitals and lower case as you typed it
in to our system. This utility is case sensitive.
- Unless you have changed them to be the same, your
login and email passwords are different. Make sure you are entering
the correct one.
- If you continue to have problems, please contact either
our technical support at 1-888-742-4357 or our Rogers Cable call center
at 1-888-ROGERS1.
5. I require the scripts for the Zone connection diskettes,
either Windows 3.1 or Windows 95.
Scripts for Trumpet
Winsock (Versions 2.0b-2.1f)
Click to download:
» twskppp1.cmd
» twskppp2.cmd
To use the above files, simply download the one appropriate for your location
and copy it to your Winsock directory. Now when you run Trumpet winsock,
you should see twskppp1.cmd (or twskppp2.cmd) as a menu item under the
Dialler menu. Select that item instead of the "login" command.
Script for Windows
95 (Dial-up scripting tool)
Click to download:
» zone.scp
To use the Windows scripting, first install the Dial-up scripting tool
from Microsoft (if you have our software, then it is probably already
installed). Once installed, copy the script file to the "Program Files/Accessories"
folder. Next, run the Scripter program, and browse for the file you just
downloaded. That's it.
Please see the following file for more information on choosing a script:
» where.txt
